- Dead battery
A dead battery is undeniably one of the most common reasons why your car won’t start. If you have a battery tester in your possession, then you can check your battery to see if it’s dead or weak or you can also try jumping your car with the jumper cables. - Corrosive Battery
It is very important to keep your car’s batteries safe from getting corroded as it can spell huge trouble. It is advisable to check and clean your car’s battery and make sure that it is clean, has a complete connection, followed by that you can try to start your car over again. - Faulty starter motor
You will need to have a new one installed if there is a problem with the Starter motor as it is responsible for physically turning the engine over and getting it to fire. - Bad timing belt
The timing belt is one of the major maintenance items in the engine as it ensures the opening and closing of the engine’s valves at the proper intervals so that the valves and the pistons never touch each other. A faulty or failed timing belt can cause unavoidable engine damage that will be further requiring engine replacement. - Cracked distributor cap
The distribution cap is responsible for routing the voltage from the engine’s ignition coil to the spark plugs and if in case moisture gets under the cap, it can lead to a lot of problems for your car. To ensure this doesn’t happen wipe it out with a clean and dry cloth before reinstalling and always be mindful of replacing the damaged cap. - Problem with the ignition coil
A damaged ignition coil means there’s not enough juice to transform the battery’s voltage into an electric spark. Also, for checking the strength of the current running through the coil you will be needing a multimeter. - Clogged fuel filter
A clogged fuel filter prevents sufficient fuel from reaching the engine. Therefore, a replacement shall be needed in this case.
